FAQ

Q: How much does custom picture framing cost?

A: The cost of custom picture framing depends on two primary factors: the size of your artwork and the materials you select. We offer over 2,000 frame samples in a wide range of styles and price points, along with thousands of acid-free and museum-quality matboard options, including various colors, textures, leathers, and suedes.

We also carry a full selection of protective glazing options, from standard glass to museum-grade conservation glass, to help preserve and protect your artwork for years to come.

Because every project is unique, we do not have fixed pricing. However, we are always happy to provide approximate estimates by phone or email based on the size of your piece and your framing goals.

Q: How much does it cost to custom frame a sports jersey?

A: The cost of custom framing a sports jersey depends on two primary factors: the size of the jersey and the materials you choose. Jerseys can vary significantly in dimensions depending on the sport, making each project unique.

Like any custom framing project, jerseys can be designed in a variety of ways. Options range from a simple acid-free mat presentation to more elaborate designs featuring multiple acid-free mats, team colors, and custom layouts. Many clients also choose to incorporate photographs, medals, pins, patches, tickets, or other memorabilia into the display.

We also recommend protective conservation or museum-grade glass for signed jerseys and valuable memorabilia to help prevent fading and preserve your piece for years to come.

Because every jersey framing project is custom, we do not have fixed pricing. However, we are always happy to provide approximate estimates by phone or email based on your jersey and display preferences.

Q: What is your turnaround time?

A: Because every project we complete is custom-made, quality craftsmanship takes time. Our typical turnaround time is approximately 3-4 weeks, although this can vary depending on our current workload and the complexity of the project.

Orders are generally completed in the order they are received to ensure fairness to all of our customers. If you have a specific deadline or need your project completed sooner than our standard turnaround time, please let us know. We will always do our best to accommodate rush requests whenever possible.

Please note that expedited orders may be subject to a rush fee, as they often require adjustments to our production schedule or additional staff time. In addition, discounts are not valid on rush orders.

Q: Is 5280 Custom Framing a local business?

A: Absolutely! 5280 Custom Framing is a locally owned and operated Denver business. When you choose to frame with us, you're supporting a local company that invests directly in the community we call home.

Whenever possible, we source our materials from trusted manufacturers and suppliers, many of whom are located right here in the Denver area. Supporting local businesses helps strengthen the local economy, create jobs, and keep resources within the community.

We are proud to serve Denver and the surrounding communities, and we greatly appreciate every customer who chooses to shop local.

Q: Aren't you more expensive than the big-box chain stores?

A: Not necessarily. One of the most common misconceptions in the framing industry is that local custom frame shops are always more expensive than big-box retailers. In reality, many customers are surprised to find our pricing is comparable to and often less than quotes they receive from national chains.

A key difference is how materials are sourced and how work is produced. Large chain stores typically manufacture their own framing materials, which allows them to control pricing and limit available options. At 5280 Custom Framing, we take a different approach. We source high-quality materials from a wide range of manufacturers across the United States, including local and specialty suppliers, many of which are not available to big-box stores.

Equally important, all of our work is done on-site in our Denver studio. Nothing is shipped out or outsourced. With many big-box retailers, framing is often sent to centralized production facilities, meaning customers rarely know exactly who is handling their artwork or the level of care being applied.

At 5280 Custom Framing, your piece is handled entirely in-house by our team, which collectively brings over 100 years of framing experience to every project. This ensures consistency, craftsmanship, and accountability from start to finish.

We encourage anyone to compare quotes and materials side by side. When you do, the value of expert craftsmanship, premium sourcing, and true in-house service becomes clear.

Q: Is your custom framing work guaranteed?

A: Absolutely. 5280 Custom Framing stands behind every piece we create with an industry-leading Design and Craftsmanship Guarantee, which includes both a 30-Day Design Guarantee and a Lifetime Craftsmanship Guarantee.

If you are not completely satisfied with the design of your finished piece, we will re-craft or redesign your artwork within 30 days of purchase, in the same price range, at no additional cost.

In addition, for the lifetime of your frame, if anything shifts, loosens, or requires adjustment due to workmanship, we will repair it at no charge.

This level of guarantee reflects the confidence we have in our craftsmanship and our commitment to delivering work that meets or exceeds your expectations.

Q: Can I buy a frame from you and add items and finish it myself?

A: Our frames are not sold as pre-made kits for at-home assembly. Each custom framing project is professionally designed and built in-house to ensure the highest level of quality, presentation, and long-term preservation.

Every piece is carefully measured, mounted, and assembled by our experienced framing team to properly support and protect your artwork or memorabilia. This allows us to ensure proper alignment, secure installation, and archival-level construction that helps preserve your item for years to come.

Because of this hands-on, custom process, we are unable to offer unfinished frame kits for customer completion at home.
